MAGNETIC PILLOW FOR INSOMNIA TREATMENT

The possible reason is that in your forehead is a gland called the pineal gland (it’s shaped like a pine nut) which is stimulated by the magnet. Now this gland produces a number of hormones. One of these is being Melatonin. It is melatonin that helps you to sleep. So as we get older our melatonin levels drop and consequently more senior people just don’t sleep so much. So producing more melatonin means a better sleep. Serotonin is another hormone produced. That hormone is good for stress. Many people with bi polar style mental illness’s are prescribed serotonin. The other hormone is dopamine. In my early days I would sell someone a pillow or eye mask and they would ring me back, they would tell me that they have Parkinson’s disease and that the product had reduced their tremors. To my amazement I had no idea why my Australian made magnetic pillow would do this till my magnetic guru told me that people with Parkinson’s have low dopamine levels. Since that time have encountered hundreds of similar antidote l stories and spoken at numerous Parkinson Support Groups in the Sydney Metropolitan area.

Did you know: The front cover of New Science in August 1995 declared that “Happiness is a magnet?” Inside, it explained that Mark George and co-researchers at Washington’s National Institute of Health have found that applying very strong pulsating magnetic fields to the left pre-frontal cortex for 20 minutes every day relieved depressive illness in a 40 year old woman who had attempted suicide, had been admitted to hospital five times, and had a long list of failed medication. The prefrontal cortex in an area of the brain often found to be underactive in depression patients.

The technique they used, called Tran cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) was pioneered in London’s Institute of Neurology by Pat Merton and John Rothwell in the 1990s.  It was first used to diagnose strokes, tumors, and other brain impairments, and then found applications in Parkinson’s disease. The magnetic activity revives neural activity in part of the brain often numbed in people with chronic depression. But the technique is still in an experimental stage.

Those Egyptians were very clever: An established legend had it that the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra would place a magnetic amulet on here forehead to preserve her youthful looks. This “third eye” area is a pressure point for the pineal gland in many healing traditions, such as Shiatsu.

Scientists now recognize that the pineal gland is sensitive to magnetic fields. At night this gland secretes melatonin and sensitizes cell membranes to the reception of repair signals. A magnet placed here could therefore aid the cell repair process and be conductive to deep and refreshing sleep. Even today Tibetan monks place a bar magnet on the forehead to improve concentration and learning ability.
